By using FlossGrid (cross-stitch-pattern-app.web.app) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

The service

FlossGrid provides a free in-browser pattern maker that turns photos into counted charts, a reference library of thread and bead colors with computed equivalents, and an optional paid Pro upgrade. We may add, change or remove features at any time, and we aim to keep the free tools available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Color values are approximations

Hex and RGB values are screen approximations of dyed thread and plastic beads, taken from open datasets. Equivalents between brands are computed with the CIEDE2000 color-difference formula and are a guide, not a promise that two products look the same in your hands. Stitch counts, finished sizes and skein, drill or bead estimates come from documented formulas and can differ from what you actually use. Check important colors against a physical color card and buy a little extra before starting a large project.

Your photos and charts

Photos are processed in your browser and are never uploaded, so we never receive or own them. You are responsible for having the right to use the images you turn into charts. The charts you make are yours to stitch, print, give away or sell, subject to the rights in the original image.

Trademarks

DMC, Anchor, Madeira, Perler, Hama, Artkal, Nabbi and other brand names are trademarks of their respective owners. They are used only to identify their products and color numbers. FlossGrid is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of these companies.

Pro purchases

Pro is not on sale yet; reserving the founder price costs nothing and commits you to nothing. Once it is on sale, Pro will be a one-time purchase processed by Stripe. It unlocks the Pro features in the browser used for the purchase, for the personal use of the buyer, including stitching and selling finished pieces. If Pro does not do what you need, reply to your receipt within 14 days for a full refund. Prices may change for future purchases; this never affects what you have already bought.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt the site, overload it with automated requests, probe it for vulnerabilities, or copy its pages wholesale to republish them. Normal personal use, including quoting individual color matches with a link back, is welcome.

Intellectual property

The site design, text and code belong to FlossGrid. The palette datasets are used under their own open licenses, listed on the how it works page. Calculated values such as color distances are facts and you may use them freely.

Liability

The site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as thread or materials bought on the strength of a computed equivalent.
