What this Artkal mini bead pattern maker makes

Artkal C-series beads are 2.6 mm minis with their own C-prefixed codes. The C range is large for a mini bead line, so photos can keep gradients that would band with a smaller palette.

The preset starts at 56 beads wide and 16 colors. A 2.6 mm bead makes a 100-bead portrait only about 26 cm wide.

How to read a Artkal mini bead pattern

Each cell is one C-series bead; the key gives the C code, the name and the count. Use the symbols to tell close shades apart.

At this scale, work in small blocks of 10 × 10 using the grid lines and check each block before moving on.

Materials for Artkal mini bead patterns

  • Artkal C-series 2.6 mm beads by the codes in the key.
  • Mini pegboards made for 2.6 mm beads.
  • Fine tweezers, ironing paper and an iron without steam.
  • A magnifier or a bright lamp.

Make a Artkal mini bead pattern from a photo

  1. Choose a detailed photo

Portraits and landscapes are where the mini size pays off.

  2. Set the width

Start at 56 and raise it for more detail; the finished size updates live.

  3. Set the color limit

Sixteen to twenty-four colors work well with the C palette.

  4. Bead in blocks

Work 10 × 10 blocks using the grid lines.

  5. Fuse lightly

Mini beads fuse fast; use low heat and check often.

Tips for Artkal mini bead patterns

  • C and S codes do not line up (C02 is a black, S02 is not), so always reorder by the code in this key.
  • Use tweezers with a fine tip; mini beads slip out of wide ones.
  • Close shades from a big palette can be hard to tell apart; label trays with the chart symbols.
  • The color pages for Artkal S list the nearest Perler and Hama colors if you want to mock up a design at 5 mm.

Frequently asked questions

Can I make an Artkal mini bead pattern from a picture?

Yes. Upload the picture, choose the width and the color limit, and the tool converts it to Artkal C-series colors with a bead count per code.

How big are Artkal C beads?

Artkal C-series beads are 2.6 mm, about half the 5 mm S-series size.

Why do C-series codes differ from S-series codes?

Artkal numbers each series separately, so the same number can be a different color in C and S. This page uses C codes only.

How big is a 100-bead Artkal mini bead pattern?

100 beads at 2.6 mm each come out 26.0 cm (10.2 in) wide. A square design that size has 100 rows and 10,000 beads.
